Day 3. Jacumba to Calexico

Beautiful day today but plenty of wind but very doable.  The most fun was our 6% downhill on Hiway 8.  What a great 10 mile down.

We rode to Calexico and as we came into town Gary and Henry found this little taco place in a strip mall.  No customers so they told the guy working in there to start cooking as they were going to bring in about 40 riders.  They whistled and  yelled as the riders rode by and most of us turned in.  They guy probably made more than he had in a month.

As we left the taco place and were headed to the school where we were staying that night we weren't sure if we were heading in the right way..  So I walked into a jewelry store, stated "I'm lost can you help me" and the guy said yes right away.  Came outside and realized we were only 3 blocks from the school we were staying at.   We stayed at the Calexico Mission School where most of the kids attending have to get up at  5am to cross the border into the U.S when it opens at 6am.

WE stayed in the gym at the Calexico Mission School where the kids made us dinner and breakfast.
Enchilada, rice and beans for dinner and killer cookies that they made.  Breakfast was pancakes and eggs.
This is a 7th Adventist church so there wasn't any coffee to be found on the premises.  Across the street was an eclectic coffee shop who normally opens at 10am but opened at 6am for the riders.

This was laundry nite and our first indoor camping experience.  It was good and we all called it an adult slumber party.

The Wolfpack - the guys that do all the tent setting and schlepping our gear to our tents.  Great young guys who work hard for us.
