Day 33 Day 34 60 miles, Day 35 72 miles

So once again I'm behind in my blog.  It's either no internet, no time or just having too much fun. I find it interesting that so many riders are ordering things from Amazon and having it sent to the motels.  They either need moe or they forgot to pack an item.

Mexican Hill Ranch to Shepherd TX,  60 miles
On the way to Shepherd Texas we once again had plenty of hills and cross winds.   I think we are being punished for that awesome tailwind we had going into to Rodeo New Mecico.  We've only had haad winds and cross winds since then.  We rode through Sam Houston National Forest which was absolutely beautiful with Lake Conroe right in the middle.   Then it was off to The Hop for lunch.
We camped in a place called Shepherd Sancturary.  It was an eclectic area that is hard to explain.  As the owner said they were hoarders who found a place for everything.  Many buildings and antiques.  You could spend days in there and never see it all.

Shepherd TX to Silsbee Tx. 60 miles
Our last night in Texas.  The last couple of days the sag check-ins have been at donut shops and I who probably haven't had a donut in a few years can hardly wait to get to the donut shops for a glazed donuts.  Two if they're small.   Some good roads finally and pine trees galore.   Our next stop was at  Honey Island where the special is fried baloney sandwiches.  I couldn't quite order one so had a BLT instead.  This was at the general store where they served food along with seeds and fertilizer, anything you might need for your farm and your tummy.  We made it to the RV park for camping and was told there was going to be a band at the Honky Tonk behind the park.  So of course a bunch of us went over there and a few of us danced and had a fun time.

Silsbee Tx to DeRidder LA. 72 miles
Goodbye Tezas and chip seal roads - hello to Louisiana!  We crossed over the Sabine River and into our new state.  Thank goodness it was a pretty flat ride today.   Sag checkout once again at the donut shop.  Glazed donuts again.  Lots of logging trucks now and will continue to see them for the rest of the time in Louisiana.   We had a DQ right before turning into our motel today and I had my second Blizzard.   Gotta love them!   Tonite Bubba celebrated by bringing in 80 pounds of Crawfish.  I learned how to twist off the tail and pull the meat out of it.  Throw the remainder away.  Seems like such a waste and I don't think they are that great.  A lot of work for a little bit of taste.  Then we went to Presley's for dinner and now finishing up my blog.
